Sexes differ in Adult.
Male: Forehead to nape, face, sides of neck and underparts rich or deep lemon-yellow. Tail is brown or dark brown.
Female: Forehead to crown, nape, mantle, back and scapulars warm sandy-buff or a light ginger tone. Tail dark gray.
'Chirp', 'schilp' or a disyllabic 'tchirrup'. Also when in-flight rhythmic 'che-che-che', rapidly repeated.
