Opaline Red Rump Parrot - Psephotus haematonotus
Opaline: it alters pigment distribution reducing spread of black pigments and enhancing the psittacin pigments
without altering structural color production. Enhanced wing stripes in both sexes, grey down turns into white.
When perched in the treetops they emit a pleasant,
trill-like whistle, almost a song.
A disyllabic, shrill whistle with an upward inflection
repeated three of four times. Calling to one another
with an attractive "chee chillip chee chillip."
