Adults: general plumage green; forehead and behind eyes red; lores, cheek, throat and upper breast rose-pink;
rump bright blue; under wing-coverts green tinged with blue; tail green above, bluish below; bill horn-colored
tinged with green, especially along cutting edges and on lower mandible; iris dark brown; legs grey.
Lovebirds are very social and love companionship. Their natural behavior is to live closely with a companion so are often kept with another lovebird. Most are kept in pairs to satisfy their considerable need for constant companionship, mutual preening, and socialization.
