Yellowish olive-green; a long crest of thread-like feathers; lower back and rump chestnut; the long upper tail-coverts olive-green. The sexes are alike in plumage, but the female is considerably smaller in size than the male.
A variable, accelerating series of liquid bubbling, sometimes ending in a quavering, liquid hooting phrase, e.g. "glug-ug-ug'ug'ug'op'wuubawuub."
