Male: distinctive black head, yellow body and edges to wings, greenish-yellow mantle and scapulars, yellow edges and tips to tail; braight orange-yellow bill. Female: olive-grey head and upperparts, bright yellow tips to greater coverts, dull greenish edges to secondaries; tail dull olive-green, bill yellow.
