Desert Finch - Rhodopechys obsoleta
It is a large brown finch found in southern Eurasia. It has an average wingspan of 26 cm. It has a stout black bill, black and white remiges and rectrices, and a slash of rosy-pink on each wing. The female is more dull in color than the male, but other than that the adult sexes are similar in color pattern.
Song is a pleasant rambling or chattering jumble of disconnected notes incorporating many of the call notes with some harsher trills and rolls.
Call is a rather soft rippling or purring, almost Bee-eater-like 'r-r-r-r-r-ee', 'prruii-prruii', 'prrryv, prrryv' or 'prrrt-prrrt' also a fairly harsh 'turr' and a sharp 'shreep' given in flight.
