Identifications:
Adult male: cerulean blue from face to breast and from rump to tail than male. Adult female: paler blue from face to breast and from rump to tail than male.
Song:
Song is also fairly similar to that of other two cordon-bleus, but is sweeter and less squeaky in tone, 'kway, kway' or 'cheru, cheru, chittywoo, weeoo, wee' or slight variations thereof.
Call:
Call notes very similar if not identical to those of Red cheeked and Blue capped cordon blue, a 'weet-weet', 'sweet-sweet-sweet' or 'weety-wee'
