Identifications:
Male: crown and sides of head black, back and rump rufous. A whitish double wing-bar. Lemon-yellow underparts, sides od breast rufous.
Female: Fulvous-brown with dark streaks upper part. Buffish white with traces of yellow underparts, sides pale brown and under tail-coverts yellow.
Song:
Consists of a loud series of strophes each made up a high harsh notes that accelerate into a jangling mix with some clear slurred notes interspersed before stopping abruptly.
Call:
Call is a single note 'tweet' or soft 'zrit'.
